Music
I was born screaming my head off and the doctor commented that I had good lungs.
I still do.
A soundtrack has always run in the background of my head, and writing it down, recording it, performing it — it helps to clear the space for new ideas and creation.
We are all citizens in music’s world. I revel in the fact that the tone, the core and structure of my music, can be translated into any language or non-language via the intent of sound.
As a pianist, vocalist, and composer, I try to incorporate my love of melodic line with my fascination with the piano’s ability to function as my percussion section, my orchestra, and my string section. I call it zydeco piano.
When the piano becomes an extension of my voice, I feel most powerful in my writing and performing.
My songs reflect my Louisiana heritage, and my love of jazz and blues. Please check back for posted gigs and other performances!
